Pay rate – £35 per hour Contract – Temporary Rotherham MB Council are currently recruiting an experienced children’s Social Worker for their Fostering team. Full-time Assessing Social Worker within the LA Fostering Service working Monday - Friday on a 'hybrid' basis (minimum of x 3 days per week office based). The social worker must have 3 years’ experience as a social worker within Children's and Young People's Services, hold a BA in Social Work (or equivalent) and have experience of kinship assessment work. Applications would be particularly welcome from those with experience of policy writing or service development. The role will entail completing Form K assessments of kinship carers in or outside of the local authority area dependent on the location of family carers. This will include completing all statutory requirements of each individual case including checks, references, weekly planned/unplanned home visits, placement planning meetings and offer support with initial viability visits to locality teams as required. In addition, the role will involvement some development work on specific tasks, including guidance/policy writing in relation to parent and child placements. The successful applicant will be expected to manage their own work commitments independently, maintain accurate up-to-date records, have excellent communication skills, be willing to be flexible within their approach to the role dependent on the needs of the service and be able to work as part of a busy fostering team committed to ensuring the health, well-being and safety of children, young people and their families in the region. Children’s Social Workers will need at least 3 years’ permanent experience with an English local authority and to be registered with Social Work England, as per DfE rules.
