Optical Biosensor Lead

The Digital Healthcare (DHC) business unit seeks a highly motivated and experienced Principal Optical Biosensors Lead to advance the development of novel biosensor systems. These biosensor systems leverage electrochemical and optical sensors, microfluidic components, measurement electronics, algorithms, and control software to perform highly accurate and reliable biomarker measurements for diagnostic and therapeutic applications.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a technical team focused on the development of optical biosensors, optical signal chains and experimental validation of the developed sensor systems. The technology development will ultimately be integrated into ADI biosensor products.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Build, lead and mentor a world class optical sensor development team fostering a culture of innovation and scientific excellence.
2. Develop and execute strategic technology roadmaps focused on advancements in optical biosensors.
3. Oversee the design and experimental evaluation of novel optical biosensors.
4. Develop a deep understanding of optical biomedical sensor physics and measurement parameters.
5. Collaborate with cross functional teams including business development, applications, system architecture and global operations to inform development directions and translate findings into viable technology for integration into ADI biosensor products.
6. Engage with research partners, academic institutions and vendor ecosystem to deliver rapid prototypes
7. Mentor and develop team members, promoting professional growth and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications:
Education:
8. PhD in Electrical, Mechanical, Materials Science, Biomedical, Physics, or related engineering disciplines (or master's/bachelor's degree with additional industrial experience)
Experience:
9. Extensive industry experience leading technology development activities, preferably in optical biosensing
10. Proven track record in leading teams and collaborating within complex organisations.
11. Domain knowledge and expertise in optical biosensors and human physiology.
12. History of increasing technical responsibilities.
