About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Estates Officer to join our Property and Assets team, supporting the day to day management of the Councils land and property portfolio.

This role is property focused, with a strong emphasis on estate management, landlord and tenant matters, and the accurate coordination of property transactions. You will play a key role in ensuring property records, leases, licences and related processes are managed efficiently and in line with the Councils policies and Asset Management Strategy.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a solid background in estates and property management who is highly organised, detail driven and able to manage a varied workload.

In this role, you will:
Carry out day to day estate management and property administration for the Councils land and property portfolio
Manage landlord and tenant matters, including leases, licences, renewals, rent reviews and related documentation
Negotiate and agree heads of terms for property transactions and progress these through to completion
Work closely with tenants and occupiers to resolve landlord and tenant matters
Ensure all property transactions are processed in accordance with the Councils Asset Management Strategy and governance requirements
Liaise with Legal Services, agents, surveyors, valuers and other professional advisors
Support procurement activity in line with Contract Procedure Rules
Maintain accurate property, tenancy and financial records using Council systems
Support rent, service charge and debt recovery processes
Assist with property reviews and budget preparation
Deal with estate related queries, issues and problems efficiently and professionally

About you
Property experience is essential for this role.

You will be:
An experienced estates or property professional with experience in a similar role
Confident handling estate management and landlord & tenant matters
Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and excellent record keeping skills
Comfortable working with property documentation, lease terms and financial information
A strong problem solver, able to manage issues calmly and pragmatically
Hard working and self motivated, with the ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines
An effective communicator, able to liaise professionally with internal teams, tenants and external advisors
Competent in IT systems
Committed to confidentiality and data protection standards

You will need
o Good level of IT skills and aptitude to learn bespoke packages
o Excellent verbal and written skills

Special Conditions
o Full UK Driving Licence
o Ability to travel and access to a vehicle for work purposes
o Flexibility to work additional hours where service needs require
o Willingness to work at alternative locations
