Payroll Officer
V-Recruit are currently recruiting for an experienced Payroll Officer to start work in the Rotherham area as soon as possible.
This is a 6-month fixed-term contract, full-time position for a large, nationwide industrial services provider.
This is a fast paced, and varied role, with between 7,000– 10,000 people on the payroll at any one time, made up of both permanent employees and contractors throughout the whole of the UK.
Your duties and responsibilities would include:
* Being responsible for accurate processing of various weekly payrolls
* Ensuring processing deadlines are met centrally and regionally
* Checking exception reports and amending any errors
* Calculating under/overpayments
* Processing EYU’s
* SSP, SPP, SMP Payments
* Amending pay rates, tax codes, bank details etc.
* Dealing with queries from employees
* Completing enquiry forms from third parties
* Ensuring compliance with statutory legislation
* Month end reporting and payments for various weekly payrolls
* Auto enrolment processes
* RRI reporting to HMRC
* Manual payments to employees where required
* Yearend processes
Job specifics
This is a 6-month fixed term contract, full-time role
Salary between £25-27.5k per annum, depending on experience (paid for 6 month duration)
Hybrid work, with two days per week WFH available after initial training/induction period
Working hours are 8am-4pm/9am-5pm, Monday to Thursday with an early finish on a Friday, 36.25 hour week
The candidate
We are looking for applications from candidates with at least 6-12 months continuous payroll experience.
Experience paying both contractors and PAYE employees would be advantageous, but training can be given to the right person
You must have an excellent attention to detail, along with advanced prioritisation and organisation skills. You must be IT literate, with competence with Microsoft Office packages, especially Excel.
The chosen candidate will have a good standard of education, with a minimum of 2 x A-C Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English. Payroll qualifications would be advantageous.
You will be working as part of a small/medium sized payroll team, so excellent interpersonal skills are essential.
