Job Description: Events Manager (Sessional Contract)
Main Purpose
To ensure the scheduled evening & weekend live events and cinema screenings (as required by the Events Programme for FDC) run smoothly & safely, while providing an excellent customer experience.
Through pre- event planning & on-the-night delivery, leading a small team of volunteers to ensure all elements of the live events & cinema are functioning to the highest standards including working with the artists & technicians, operating the Bar, box office/ticketing, ushering, as well as ensuring safety & security at all times.
Duty Management
Take responsibility as Duty Manager for individual evening or weekend live events or cinema screenings according to the FDC programme of events & as agreed with the Centre Manager. The number of live events scheduled at FDC varies throughout the year, so to allow for flexibility in your employment you will be 'allocated' responsibility for a pre-agreed number of events at least 3 months in advance.
Undertake pre-event planning & preparations in consultation with the Centre Manager to ensure the volunteers are briefed & prepared, the building, equipment & other resources are in place and everything is ready for a smooth event.
Act as a key holder by opening & closing the Centre when required & ensuring the general safety of the Centre's premises, contents & external areas.
As a manager for an event you will create, establish & maintain positive relationships with relevant supporters, agents, artists & other third parties.
Instruct & supervise the preparation for & delivery of events, including supervision of volunteers, technical staff & volunteers & contracted personnel.
Operate the bar & any associated food or drink provided at the event by FDC including Cash handling
