To work as part of the Community CAMHS multi-disciplinary team with a specific focus on children and young people referred to the CAMHS service for assessment of ADHD and/or ASD.
The post holder will work within the community setting across Bolton and Wigan Community CAMHS, supporting patients on their journey but be expected to be flexible in terms of delivering care within a variety of settings.
Main duties of the job
* Support with the triage of new and existing referrals made into Community CAMHS for ADHD and/or ASD assessments as part of the new GM ND Transformation Agenda
* Support the Neurodevelopmental Nurse-led service from assessment to diagnosis and subsequent monitoring arrangements in line with NICE Recommendations
* Provide consultation to a skill mixed team regarding ADHD and ASD and facilitate a culture of learning and reflective practice
* Work in collaboration with the Clinical Team Manager, NMPs and Senior Practitioners to support the clinical governance / public health and NHS modernisation agenda
* Actively contribute to the implementation of the safeguarding agenda within the service, in partnership with the GMMH safeguarding team
Person specification
Education/Qualification
* First level nursing qualification, RMN or equivalent
* Additional qualifications relevant to this post
Experience
* Demonstrable knowledge/understanding and experience in assessment of service users with complex mental health and/or complex needs such as ADHD/ASC and/or other neurodevelopmental conditions
* Evidence of an ability to effectively manage own workload and work autonomously
* Working within a team and/or multi-agency arenas
* Specialist working knowledge and experience of supporting and monitoring service users diagnosed with ADHD/ASC
Knowledge/Skills
* Demonstrable ability to communicate to service users, their families, and professionals sensitive and often difficult to receive information, using various methods including verbal, non-verbal, written and presentation skills
* Good knowledge of legislation acts and developments relevant to the field of child related work
* Demonstrable knowledge and skills in evidence-based needs led assessment, of highly complex and co-morbid presentations of service users, their families, and carers
* Demonstrable knowledge and skills in evidence based therapeutic interventions relevant to the needs of this client group
