Driver Hire/dh Recruitment (Torbay) is looking for reliable, experienced HGV Class 2 drivers for ad-hoc work with a client operating a seven-day wholesale food distribution operation based in South Devon. You'll be delivering to hotels, restaurants, pubs, and other hospitality venues across the South West - so you'll need to know how to handle yourself in busy, back-of-house environments.
Shifts are available throughout the week, including weekends, making this a great opportunity if you want flexibility without sacrificing good pay.
About the role:
* Vehicle: Class 2 HGV
* Work Type: Ad-hoc (shifts available 7 days a week)
* Start Time: From 5am
* Routes: Across the South West, based out of South Devon
* Delivery Type: Cage work - wholesale food supplies to hospitality venues
* Pay: £19.05 per hour (PAYE Advance - other PAYE models are available, paid weekly)
Key Responsibilities:
* Safely driving a Class 2 HGV on planned delivery routes across the South West
* Unloading cages and delivering wholesale food products to hospitality venues such as hotels, restaurants, and pubs
* Handling deliveries in busy kitchen and delivery bay environments professionally and efficiently
* Completing delivery documentation accurately
* Representing the client professionally at all customer sites
You'll need:
* HGV Class 2 (Cat C) licence
* Valid CPC qualification
* Digital tachograph card
* Proven experience delivering wholesale food supplies to the hospitality sector
* Confidence handling cage deliveries in tight, active environments
* An early riser - shifts start from 5am
* Good communication and a professional attitude at customer sites
