Overview
This role reports to the Head of Technical and Building Services and involves the technical management of all stage performances and events at the New Victoria Theatre and Rhoda McGaw Theatre. The position is based at The Ambassadors, Woking.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure safe and efficient get‑in and get‑out of all productions, in accordance with the UK Theatre BECTU Agreement and ATG Risk Management System.
* Act as the Technical Management Lead for the Rhoda McGaw Theatre and line‑manage the Rhoda McGaw Senior Technicians.
* Line‑manage the Senior Technicians and Chief Electrician.
* Lead the stage team during get‑ins and get‑outs.
* Work closely with visiting companies to meet their technical needs economically.
* Act as the Technical Lead for the Risk Management System on behalf of the line manager.
* Ensure visiting companies comply with contractual terms.
* Co‑ordinate scheduling and calling of staff with the Chief Electrician and Senior Technicians.
* Maintain high standards throughout stage and backstage areas.
* Recruit, train, appraise and manage the Technical Team’s performance.
* Keep all technical staff up to date with industry practices, procedures and working practices.
* Support and provide technical assistance for Creative Learning activities.
* Provide technical advice for external events/hires as required.
* Collaborate with Building and Maintenance Management Team as needed.

* Proven track record in a senior technical position.
* Ability to motivate staff and commit to staff development.
* Pro‑active problem‑solving and initiative.
* Enthusiasm for live theatre.
* Organised, methodical approach to work, with capability to implement systems and procedures.
* Confident and welcoming personality.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Experience managing staff.
* Experience working with producers and touring companies.
* Good numeracy, literacy and administration skills.
* Willingness to work flexible hours.
