Cloud Engineer role at Asda. Location: Asda House. Employment Type: Full time. Contract Type: Permanent. Hours Per Week: 37.5. Salary: Competitive salary plus benefits. Category: Infrastructure. Closing Date: 3 October 2025.
About You: The ideal candidate should be an experienced cloud engineer with a strong technical foundation on a major cloud provider, they should also have a proactive mindset and be looking to step into a growing team to support a large retail enterprise platform. The candidate should understand the importance of cloud technology within a fast-paced retail environment and be willing to drive change and support teams to meet the business needs.
Required
* Proven experience with Azure or another major cloud provider in a production environment.
* Strong understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD tooling (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
* Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferable).
* Solid grasp of cloud security, networking, and monitoring practices.
* Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
* Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Customer-centric approach with a focus on reliability and performance.
Desirable
* Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect).
* Experience with observability tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Grafana, Prometheus).
* Understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, firewalls, VNETs, routing).
* Exposure to containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
