Job Title: Care Assistant (Full-Time)
Special Needs School - Autism & Asperger's Support
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join a specialist educational setting near Andover, starting in April 2025. This full-time, term-time role offers a deeply rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with autism and Asperger's syndrome within a nurturing and structured school environment. This welcoming special needs school caters to pupils aged 4 to 16, all of whom are diagnosed with autism or Asperger's. With a small cohort of around 100 students, the school is known for its individualised care, close teamwork, and a strong focus on personal development and independence. The site also benefits from free on-site parking and access to ongoing training.
Provide personal care and hands-on support tailored to each student's needs.
Assist with daily routines, including mobility, feeding, and hygiene.
Work closely with teachers, SEN professionals, and therapists to implement individual education and care plans.
Record observations and report any concerns following safeguarding guidelines.
Experience in a care or support role, ideally within a school, healthcare, or SEN setting.
A solid understanding of autism and related sensory or behavioural needs.
A clear understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality standards.
An enhanced DBS check (support with application available if required).
Competitive daily rate: £83 - £95 per day, depending on experience.
