Drainage Engineer
Location: Millbrook Depot (Southampton, Hampshire)
Job Type: Permanent, full‑time
Hours: 4 Days On 4 Days Off, 40.25 hours average per week
Salary: £27,300 per annum

Responsibilities
* Travel to residential sites via HGV in a two‑person team, powering a high‑pressure water jet for restoration.
* Clean, clear and maintain drainage systems.
* Record each job report correctly on the specialist equipment provided.
* Run diagnostics and repairs on drains.
* Deliver good customer service.
* Maintain good H&S practice while carrying out works.
* Ensure vehicle stock is full and replenished.
* Comply with health and safety responsibilities, including PPE and safe site set‑ups protecting employees, the public and other road users.
* Utilise VISTEC and Salesforce platforms.
* Liaise with the client regarding progress and updates.
* Work unsupervised in all weather conditions, utilising correct PPE, lone worker system, etc.
* Dynamically risk assess site access and working conditions dependent on specific circumstances upon arrival.
* Provide support to colleagues.
* Conduct thorough inspections of tools, equipment and plant before/after use.
* Report any defects or malfunctions regarding training.
* Carry out risk assessments and maintain a mature approach to risk perception.
* Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and comply with responsibilities.
* Perform any other reasonable ad‑hoc duties requested by management.
Qualifications and Experience
* Hard working, respectful, and compliant with health and safety standards.
* Experience in the use of high‑pressure jetting equipment is useful but not essential.
* Other drainage qualifications such as NRSWA and confined spaces are an advantage.
* Full training provided.
