Remuneration and Benefits
A market competitive wage will be offered depending on experience. The benefits of employment include up to 33 days holiday per year on a pro‑rata basis (including public holidays), an employer pension contribution of 5% of salary, discounted membership of public gyms within the Fife area and life assurance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Key Account Manager role is to lead and manage opportunities and risks from contract engagement to completion and be accountable for all aspects of delivery.
The role is responsible for ensuring all activities are planned and executed in line with customer requirements while working with cross‑functional teams.
Responsibilities include the following (not exhaustive):
* The delivery of projects to the agreed timescales, quality requirements and in line with the financial profit estimates. Maintain company and department key performance indicators (KPIs).
* Managing risk to project, business, client and stakeholders, assessing and reporting risks regularly to applicable stakeholders.
* Manage a portfolio of key accounts for high‑value oil and gas clients, acting as the primary point of contact and managing the interface and responses on all client communication including technical queries, whilst driving customer satisfaction improvements.
* Develop a deep understanding of key account client operations, procurement cycles, and project timelines.
* Timely project execution, reviewing full commercial and technical overview of the contract, clearly understanding baseline scope of work and baseline schedule lead times including front‑end approvals and manufacturing lead times. Be accountable and responsible for managing and measuring pre‑production deliverables via cross‑functional teams, reporting impact and escalating critical‑path risk at earliest opportunity.
* Work closely with the planning team to build delivery programmes and monitor progress with the client. Maintain regular high‑level MS Project schedule for internal stakeholder review.
* Work with procurement to ensure sub‑suppliers are managed to achieve delivery and quality timescales.
* Working collaboratively with the Sales Department team on key account high priority potential projects to reduce front‑end lead time and coordinate with Process Engineer on final preparation of Engineering Masters and JIS for manufacturing.
* Preparation of regular progress reports for internal stakeholders and the client.
* Maintaining ERP system date changes to schedule.
* As and when required, maintaining client project management interface systems (Ariba, We Deliver, etc.).
* Managing change management scope (MOC) and variation order requests (VOR) through established contracts and processes through recognition of baseline changes including date management and cost.
* Supporting internal Project Status Reviews (PSR), reporting project performance (to date \ forecast to completion) to estimate and maintaining risk and opportunity registers.
* Working closely with business partners to ensure full support is given to the project to deliver a successful client project.
* Ensuring all projects adhere to relevant regulations, codes, and standards for the UK and client‑advised locations.
* Ensuring efficient project closure and the reporting of the final project KPIs are completed.
* Ensure that the project closure and KPIs are included, communicated and assessed within the established project Lesson Learned process.
Desired Experience and Personal Qualities
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in project management (preferably MOD or oil & gas sector).
* Experience within a customer‑focused organisation delivering continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
* Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* Excellent interpersonal communication and influencing skills.
* Self‑motivated and innovative.
* Excellent organisational and planning skills.
* Target driven and able to meet personal commitments.
Education and Training
* Qualification in project management preferred but not essential.
* Educated to degree level with engineering or relevant experience is desirable but not essential.
* Skilled user of MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
