Overview
Join Tesco as a Customer Delivery Driver. You will be the face of Tesco on the road, delivering to customers and providing great service with a smile. The role is hands-on, physical and varied; you may feel like your own boss on shifts, with support from Managers and colleagues back at base.
We offer a pay rate starting from £13.35 an hour, increasing to £14.56 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location.
We guarantee a minimum of 16 hours per week for new colleagues, with opportunities to work a minimum of 12 hours if preferred.
Availability and scheduling
The role requires availability windows in the week. Contracted hours are scheduled within these times with three weeks notice. We aim to support flexibility if your available times don’t exactly match but are close to those advertised.

Responsibilities
* Delivering your part of the customer shopping trip by keeping van and trays clean and tidy, and ensuring the back yard is clean.
* Washing trays as part of the tray wash process and loading the van, ensuring roadworthiness.
* Discussing changes to orders with customers, including substitutions, and offering refunds where appropriate.
* Handling products/deliveries with care and delivering within the customer’s time slot.
* Calling customers before arrival if early and calling the store if delayed by 30 minutes or more.
You will need
* Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit and support a best-in-class store experience for customers.
* Be warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues; understand customer needs and express appreciation.
* Be adaptable to changing customer needs and changes within the store.
* Be energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations and maintain balance between home and work.
* Share ideas with management on store improvements.
* Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA Driving licence (Full or Automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
