Residential Childcare Support Worker (Sessional/Casual)
Bay View Childcare is seeking a dynamic and inspirational Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our established Residential Team on a casual basis. This role will cover shifts as needed within the business, working in one of our family‑feel children's homes in Heysham or rural North Lancaster, with a maximum of four young people per home.

Location: Heysham, Morecambe
Salary: £12.29 per hour
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out duties as a Childcare Worker and Key Worker to consistently exceed National Standards set by Ofsted.
* Ensure the highest possible standard of childcare for the children resident in the Home.
* Purposefully and systematically improve the lives of all young people at the Home.
* Build and maintain positive working relationships with families, friends and external bodies as requested by the Registered Manager.
* Contribute to a culture of trust and mutual respect between all involved in the Home, both children and staff.
* Develop high‑quality care plans and adhere to legal requirements, Ofsted standards and Bay View policies.
* Record and communicate feedback from residents, families, placing authorities and other relevant parties.
* Maintain a clean, tidy, safe and secure Home at all times.
* Build constructive, trusting relationships with children, understanding their personal background and individual needs.
* Engage proactively, creating an inclusive environment where children feel they belong.
* Supervise children, monitor wellbeing and address signs of unease or conflict, de‑escalating situations in line with policies.
* Communicate concerns to the Registered Manager, Deputy Manager and Shift Leader, and carry out risk assessments as required.
* Assist with activities, cooking and purchasing food, ensuring food standards are met.
* Keep accurate records and complete necessary paperwork fully and diligently.
* Represent the Home positively, maintaining an unerringly positive participation in activities and sharing personal life experiences in a constructive manner.
* Make an active contribution to reviews of children for whom the Worker is Key Worker.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Over 21 years of age.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Diploma Level 3 in Working with Children & Young People.
* Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check if successful.
