Interim & Fractional CFO
As the Interim CFO, you will provide clear guidance and expert insight without being prescriptive, enabling teams and individuals to make informed, autonomous decisions.
You will be a core member of the leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO for a period of 6 months. This is a hands-on position requiring you to balance strategic advisory responsibilities with day-to-day management.
You need to have a deep alignment with the organisation's people-first culture, ensuring financial and operational strategies enhance rather than constrain the company.
Key Responsibilities
Hands-On Financial Management
* Manage day-to-day financial operations across the Group, covering both the UK and US, including accounting, reporting, payroll, and compliance, to ensure timely and accurate financial records.
* Oversee external relationships with funders, banks, and tax agencies, ensuring the Group maintains strong partnerships.
* Lead the preparation and successful delivery of the Group's annual audit, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and presenting clear, accurate financial statements to stakeholders.
* Implement and oversee internal controls that align with the company's values driven culture and ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations.
* Provide regular financial reports and analyses for executive leadership, offering clear insights into the financial health and performance of the Group.
Team Leadership & Development
* Mentor, and manage a high-performing finance, operations and revenue operations team, instilling a collaborative, forward-thinking approach that aligns with the company's culture.
* Partner with the wider company to develop financial literacy and encourage shared ownership of the company's financial and operational success.
Strategic Financial Leadership
* Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, providing insight on financial planning, performance, and risk management.
* Lead all aspects of financial planning and forecasting, establishing metrics that drive sound financial and operational decision-making.
* Foster a culture of accountability and transparency within the finance team and across the organisation.
Operations
* Collaborate with the Head of Operations to co-lead the design and optimisation of scalable processes, infrastructure, and systems that support efficient company growth.
* Partner on key initiatives to enhance project delivery, resource allocation, and operational performance.
Revenue Operations
* Work closely with the Revenue Operations Lead to co-lead efforts to optimise revenue forecasting, pricing strategies and margin realisation.
* Provide strategic input to improve revenue cycle management and ensure alignment between commercial strategy and financial goals.
* Support cross-functional initiatives to enhance business development processes and drive predictable, sustainable growth.
Risk Management
* Identify, assess, and mitigate financial, operational, and strategic risks to ensure the company's resilience and continuity.
* Develop and implement risk management frameworks, policies, and processes that align with regulatory requirements and best practices.
* Demonstrate flexibility and creativity in responding to incidents and managing crises, ensuring the organisation is well-prepared to adapt to unforeseen challenges.
Skills & Experience
* You will be an experienced Interim CFO with a background in senior financial leadership roles for SME professional services companies.
* You will be available to work on a fractional basis for 3 days a week (Tuesday to Thursday).
* Demonstrated ability to operate at both a strategic and tactical level.
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust across all levels.
