Job Description
My client is a well-established IFA practice with offices in Norfolk and Suffolk, offering bespoke advice to both corporate and private clients. This role will be based in their attractive office in central Ipswich.
The purpose of this role is to build excellent working relationships with Wealth Managers, Paraplanning, and Client Services, ensuring the service our clients and colleagues receive is exemplary, while also developing your knowledge and skills.
The first phase involves participating in a project to onboard new clients over 12 to 18 months, meeting business and compliance needs.
The Trainee role is the initial step in a structured development pathway towards a Technical Support position, supporting Client Services and Paraplanning with technical assistance within a centralized team. This role offers development opportunities with support, progressing into Paraplanning and advisory roles.
Responsibilities
1. You will assist with fund research and analysis at both client and company levels, ensuring accurate recording and follow-up.
2. You will gather technical product research and provide solutions.
3. You will perform financial and tax calculations.
4. You will develop skills in cashflow modelling systems and techniques.
5. You will assist in preparing initial financial plans and solutions to meet client goals.
6. You will support the maintenance and development of compliant client recommendation reports and letters.
7. You will consult with the Wealth Manager on investment, pension, and tax planning, making suggestions and confirming actions to clients.
8. You will manage your time and caseload effectively.
9. You will assist in preparing compliant suitability reports.
10. You will observe meetings, taking notes.
11. You will provide technical administrative support, including setting up policies and trusts, preparing documentation, processing client changes, and trading investments as recommended.
12. You will update client information accurately and ensure administrative tasks are diarized and actioned in Intelliflo Office (iO).
13. You will maintain relationships with providers and escalate issues when necessary.
14. You will assist with the annual review process for Wealth Managers.

* Previous experience in Financial Services providing administrative and technical support.
Qualifications
* GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
* Minimum of 1 R0 unit towards the CII Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, preferably 2, and willingness to pursue full qualification.
