Head of Commercial Our Wimborne Curtiss Wright facility is looking for a Head of Commercial to join their team! In this role, you will lead the Commercial community to ensure delivery of all commercial activities in line with budget and the strategic plan. Critically, the Head of Commercial shall ensure that appropriate processes are implemented to ensure that commercial risk is minimized or eliminated in line with legislation and corporate governance. The Head of Commercial is a member of the Energy UK Senior Management Team. Location : Wimborne, UK Your Challenge: Create and implement best practice commercial vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve business performance Ensure that commercial strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of safety, price, quality and delivery targets and which will enable the company to function and compete effectively in the market Determine, set and deliver goals and objectives for the department in line with the company’s strategic aims and objectives Ensure the appropriate systems and procedures are established, used and developed, to deliver best practice in commercial management Ensure contract acceptance reviews are regularly and effectively conducted to drive, plan, monitor and control the acceptance of orders in line with legislation and corporate governance Escalate and manage commercial opportunities and vulnerabilities Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility Manage import/export activities to ensure timely delivery of orders Constantly promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member understands the standards and behaviours expected of them Lead and contribute to continuous improvement activities What You Bring: Applicants must be able to obtain a suitable UKSV security clearance. Security contractual compliance will require incumbents must be a sole British Citizen. Detailed knowledge of import/export legislation. Demonstrable experience in leading and developing multi-disciplined teams. Detailed knowledge of terms and conditions. Proven experience of bid management/bid support. Strategic thinker with clear analytical skills and the ability to balance long-term and short-term priorities. Commercially and financially astute. Ability to challenge and influence at all levels. Strong negotiation and decision-making skills. Positive and pragmatic approach to achieving results. The ability to analyse problems and recommend a course of action. Strong leadership and people management skills, including leading a team and managing and motivating staff to achieve challenging goals. A Team Player, with a ‘Can Do’ attitude, and a flexible approach to work. Quick to adapt and learn new working practices, procedures, processes, and systems. Ability to work to tight deadlines, manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and make decisions. Energetic and enthusiastic. First class communication and interpersonal skills. Customer focused.
