Contract role with a Local Authority Job Summary: • Contact Supervision Worker required by Birmingham Children's Trust to provide supervised contact support as part of an agreed one-off weekend project. • This is a short-term, Inside IR35 agency assignment supporting safe and structured contact between children and family members, ensuring safeguarding and welfare remain paramount at all times. Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample): • Supervise contact sessions between children and family members in line with agreed care plans. • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children throughout contact sessions. • Observe, monitor and accurately record interactions during contact. • Provide clear, factual written reports following each session. • Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour where required. • Follow safeguarding policies and report any concerns immediately. • Liaise with social workers and relevant professionals regarding outcomes of contact. • Maintain professional boundaries at all times. Skills/Experience: • Experience working with children, young people or families within a social care setting. • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection principles. • Ability to manage challenging or emotional situations calmly. • Strong observation and report writing skills. • Good communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to remain impartial and professional. • Understanding of confidentiality and data protection. • Flexible and reliable for weekend work.
