Job Description:
The ideal candidate should have keen attention to detail, good communication and organisational skills, and strong data analytical abilities. Key responsibilities include ensuring underwriters have accurate and current information, working effectively in a team, and managing various administrative tasks related to underwriting processes.
* Enter enquiries, quotes, new and renewal business, and endorsements into the policy administration system, adhering to underwriting guidelines and timelines.
* Scan risk documentation promptly into folders and document management systems.
* Manage the team’s portfolio tool for MI reporting.
* Track the status of risks throughout the risk cycle.
* Manage team email inboxes.
* Monitor upcoming renewals and new risks in the pipeline.
* Research submissions using appropriate sources such as Standard and Poors’ Capital IQ and news outlets.
* Support underwriters with pre-underwriting and rating tasks, including preparing meeting packs.
* Ensure compliance with Lloyd’s standards, including Pre-Bind Quality Assurance.
* Complete month-end activities for reporting, including risk status updates and audit trails.
Broker/Client Interaction:
* Provide professional service to brokers, clients, and third parties.
* Maintain key relationships and respond promptly to queries.
* Prepare briefs, attend meetings, and take minutes as needed.
* Coordinate with brokers to ensure accuracy and timeliness of slips and information.
Reporting & Operational Requirements:
* Provide accurate management info to underwriting and senior management.
* Produce ad hoc reports and presentations.
* Monitor credit control and aged debt for timely premium collection.
* Complete data verification checks and resolve errors.
* Prepare reports for weekly meetings.
General Requirements:
* Identify and report issues within the underwriting system and assist with solutions.
* Assist with User Acceptance Testing as needed.
* Collaborate with other teams such as exposure management, claims, finance, operations, and compliance.
* Support team standards and participate in cross-team projects.
* Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
* Manage training and development needs.
* Uphold principles of Treating Customers Fairly.
Contributions to Company Results:
* Ensure underwriters have accurate, up-to-date information.
* Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
* Experience in an office environment and insurance preferred.
* Familiarity with underwriting systems, rating tools, and reporting; Xuber experience is an advantage.

Required Education:
* Educated to A Level or equivalent.
Desirable:
* Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
