We have a new opportunity to be part of the Aston Martin Performance Technologies Special Projects team in the role of Senior Composite Design Engineer.
As a Senior Composite Design Engineer in the Advanced Manufacturing & Performance Technologies (AMPT) Special Projects team you will lead the design and development of high-performance composite components, taking ownership of complex projects from concept through to production. Leading the end-to-end design of composite components, including packaging, surfacing, tooling, and laminate specifications.
Taking ownership of large-scale design projects, ensuring timely delivery, budget control, and adherence to technical specifications.
Approving and checking work of other engineers, support team development and performance reviews.
Resolving complex engineering challenges arising during design, testing, or manufacturing.
Contributing to continuous improvement, innovation, and system/process development.
Ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety requirements, while promoting best practices across the team.
Degree in Automotive, Mechanical, Motorsport Engineering or similar
Significant experience in Formula 1, top-tier motorsport, or advanced technology environments.
Strong understanding of GD&T, lightweight structural design, composite materials, and tooling techniques.
Experience in fastener selection, load path design, and composite manufacturing methods.
Proven ability to lead by example and deliver high-quality results to deadlines.
Skilled in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Project, Power BI).
Some travel may be required to meet project and company needs. This is a full-time office-based role based at our campus in Silverstone, with additional requirement to travel to other locations where necessary.
