The Role
Provide the technical and management expertise necessary to direct, lead, and support major maintenance and capital expenditure projects whilst providing mechanical support to the mill.
Maintain knowledge of the technological advances in process control and automation and integrate them into projects to improve the process and meet the operational requirements of the business.
Ensure project upgrades are carried out efficiently and within budget. To lead and direct projects consisting of writing specifications, design and construction, planning, testing, and commissioning, and support the engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Negotiate on the tender of project contracts, organise and control specialist contracts during project upgrades. Ensure that such contractors are competent and adequately informed of the project specification; arrange permits to work, agree on access and safety procedures, and ensure all requirements are adhered to.
Devise and develop robust planned maintenance and inspection schedules relating to new project upgrades and ensure that they are implemented to meet statutory, quality, and engineering requirements.
Provide technical and engineering expertise to Production Management and Mechanical support teams, where required.
The Candidate
A mechanical engineering qualification
Previous project experience either through studies, work, or placement
Able to work well in a team
Motivated individual
Able to communicate in a clear concise manner, both in writing and orally
Ability to meet deadlines
Salary
The salary offered for this position is £23,000- £35,000 plus bonus depending on whether a candidate can meet all key qualifications and abilities.
