We are looking for a skilled Hazardous Area Electrician to work for a large Energy Distributor based in Liverpool & Derbyshire. The role is located near Knowsley, with other locations considered for the right candidate.

Job role
* Carry out bespoke LPG refuelling station builds at the manufacturing facility in Staveley, Derbyshire.
* Install new customer LPG/LNG plants throughout the UK.
* Perform electrical inspections and rectification work for customer installations across the UK.
* Conduct full plant upgrades and additional electrical inspections where required.
* Assemble LPG vapourisers, pump skid units, and package boiler houses off‑site.
Requirements
* Experience installing and commissioning hazardous area electrical systems.
* Experience in the petrochemical industry, preferably GAS.
Essential Technical Skills
* Physically fit and able to work in demanding environments as part of a team or individually.
* Approved electrician with an accredited apprenticeship or comparable qualification (JIB Graded Gold card or above).
* Completion of Compex modules EX01‑4 or IECEx COPC Modules EX001‑8.
* Certification in C&G 2391, 2391‑52, 2394 & 2395 Inspection & Testing, and C&G 2382‑22 (18th Edition).
* CCSNG/JIB/SSSTS or equivalent safety passport.
* Level 3 requirements for electrical installations (BS7671:2018, 18th edition).
* High level of IT literacy, especially Microsoft Excel & Office.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Excellent fault‑finding and problem‑solving abilities.
* Proficient in preparing and installing IECEx/Atex rated equipment, including motors, control stations, junction boxes, and lighting.
* Proficient in installing metal trunking, conduit, tray, SWA cables, and glands. Familiarity with LV distribution equipment and ancillaries.
* Understanding of schematic, loop, P&ID, and zone drawings.
* Understanding of control systems and fault‑finding.
* Desirable: familiarity with NICEIC reporting, certification, IPAF & PASMA licenses.
