Overview
We are seeking a skilled Laser Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating laser cutting machine to produce high-quality components. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work with various materials, particularly sheet metal. The Laser Operator will play a crucial role in ensuring that production meets the required specifications and quality standards.
Duties
* Operating Laser machinery
* Loading and unloading sheet metal
* Follow all factory safety and environmental procedures
* Ensure H&S compliance and correct PPE is being used at all times in your area and the correct use of machinery and equipment.
* Ensure area and machinery is kept clean and tidy
* Carry our routine inspections of cut components to ensure accuracy and consistency
* De-burring of parts to maintain a high standard finish
* Managing TPM for all equipment
* Control stock levels and rotation of sheet material
* Check gas levels and liaise with supplier/purchasing if required
* Ensure parts being programmed are to the latest drawings
* Liaise with engineering to update drawing where required
* Communicate daily with other dept managers
* Assist with the development of the re-ordering process
* Manage all machinery consumables
* Assist Despatch Area; Preparing & checking picking kits, wrapping, loading and unloading.
Skills
* Proficient in operating laser cutting machinery with a strong understanding of its mechanics.
* Basic maths skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
* Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
* Experience working with sheet metal, including assembling, fabricating, grinding, and welding components.
* Familiarity with hand tools and tooling techniques relevant to the fabrication process.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
* Ability to work well within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
