Teaching Personnel is recruiting a full-time SEN Support Assistant for a secondary school in Stockport, starting in September 2025. This is a rewarding and impactful role supporting students with special educational needs and additional learning needs on a one-to-one and small group basis.
You will work closely with the SENCO and classroom teachers to ensure that pupils with EHCPs, ASD, ADHD, or SEMH needs are given appropriate, tailored support. Your role will involve helping pupils to access the curriculum, improve their confidence and engagement, and develop positive relationships in school.
The school has a well-established inclusion department, excellent support staff training, and a compassionate approach to behaviour and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities:
* Supporting students with EHCPs in mainstream lessons
* Assisting with planning and delivery of personalised learning activities
* Promoting emotional regulation and engagement in learning
* Liaising with parents and external agencies where appropriate
* Providing feedback to teaching staff on pupil progress
The ideal candidate will:
* Have experience supporting young people with additional needs
* Be emotionally resilient and able to manage challenging behaviour
* Show compassion, consistency, and a willingness to learn
* Be a team player with strong communication skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
