Full-time Caretaker Payspine: H4/H5 depending on experience Application Close Date: Monday 21st July Interview Date: Thursday 24th July Start Date: September 2025 We are looking to appoint an outstanding, highly motivated person with high expectations for the post of Caretaker. The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out a range of duties, following procedures and practices, relating to the school buildings, grounds and site operation. You will be in charge of ensuring the school environment is maintained to a high standard and will aim to deliver a high quality of service. It is an essential part of your role to liaise with contractors, conduct risk assessments and adhere to health and safety regulations. Candidates will need to be reliable, friendly, patient and have a flexible approach to their work. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team are essential. This post is intially offered as a fixed-term position until 31st August 2026, but may lead to becoming a permanent role. We are a happy and popular school with a positive and therapeutic ethos and children who are highly motivated about their learning. We have large classrooms and a stunning outdoor environment including our large Forest School area. Brookland Infant and Nursery School is a two form entry infant and nursery school that shares a site with Brookland Junior School and Lulu's Pre-School. This post is for 15-20 hours per week at Grade H4/H5 (depending on experience). Your contract will be for 52 weeks per year, annual leave must usually be taken in school holidays. This post involves working a split shift. Working hours are flexible, but will need to incorporate opening the school at 7am and closing at 6pm. From time to time you may be asked to vary your hours according to events in school. Cover of lettings may also be required, which is paid as extra hours.
