Overview
Set within picturesque landscaped gardens in Stockport, Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal offers a range of comprehensive inpatient mental health services for young people and adults. The Ward Manager – CAMHS will lead and manage the unit, ensuring safe, supportive and high‑quality care for patients.
Responsibilities
You will be part of a compassionate team committed to patients' wellbeing, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence. Core duties include:
* Managing the ward and resources, ensuring appropriate staffing levels, skill mix, rota management, annual leave and training arrangements.
* Overseeing the nursing staff rota, ensuring rota management and rostering standards are maintained.
* Ensuring all nursing team members receive clinical supervision, appraisal, CPD and mandatory training.
* Addressing shortfalls in development and ensuring that training and performance issues are addressed.
Person Specification
Essential
* Currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council or the Health and Care Professions Council as a first‑level practitioner, with at least two years experience in a supervisory role in a relevant care setting.
* Experienced in clinical environments, with evidence of continuing professional development, and ideally experience in clinical audit or service improvement.
* Strong computer literacy and communication skills, able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
* Willingness to undertake further clinical, managerial and leadership development.
Desirable
* Experience in CHAMS.
