Aureos are recruiting for a Head of Access Planning for their Rail division. This role will be supporting the Rail business operating over the UK and will be based from either our Crewe, Preston Brook or Sheffield offices. Travelling to other sites is to be expected as business needs.
Responsibilities
* Performing the role of Senior Responsible Manager on behalf of the business
* Monitoring the performance of Planners and RMs, including compliance with NR/L2/OHS/019 - Safety of People on or Near the Line, KRL-COMP-PRO-014 - Safe Work Planning procedure and relevant local instructions and arrangements
* Monitoring the level of work carried out under each hierarchy of control for operational risk
* Monitoring the overall suitability and application of the planning process including 10% RM checks, Planner checks, the level of SWP late verifications, RM authorisations relating to late verification / moving down the hierarchy of control for operational risk, the level of SWP returns, RM investigations for unreturned packs and associated trends
* Monitoring and reviewing key performance indicators
* Supporting the implementation of changes required resulting from the updates of Network Rail standards and legislation
* Providing guidance where required on Safe Work Planning matters to those that are involved in the planning process on behalf of the business
* Ensuring that those involved in the planning of work are issued with, understand and accept a Roles and Responsibilities (KRL-COMP-FRT-090) applicable to their role in the development of Safe Work Packs (SWPs)
* Reviewing and monitoring documentation being used for the purpose of requesting and the development of Safe Work Packs (SWPs)
* Arranging for corrective actions to be undertaken where non-compliances or issues are identified
Required skills and experience
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Excellent team member with good organisational and time management skills
* The ability to lead a team and provide clear guidance where necessary
* IT literate – Microsoft Office
* A comprehensive understanding of the roles involved in the development of SWPs
* A comprehensive understanding of relevant Network Rail and Railway Group Standards associated with working on or near Network Rail Managed Infrastructure, including but not limited to NR/L2/OHS/019
* Have a full understanding of KRL-COMP-PRO-014
* Be fully conversant with the Rule Book GERT8000, specifically modules associated with work “on or near the line”
* Sentinel card, with current SSOWP competency
