With over one hundred million passenger journeys each year, we carry people to over 280 stations in the Southwest, from Cornwall and South Wales to London, passing through beautiful countryside and some of the UK's top tourist destinations.
We are transforming the way people think about train journeys, empowering our team of over 7,000 diverse people to give our customers an amazing experience and make rail the best way to travel.
Join us as a Weekend Customer Host to be part of this exciting transformation, enhancing the service for customers travelling with us on Saturdays and Sundays. This role is ideal for those with weekday commitments, working onboard our trains to provide customers with at-seat service, a warm welcome, and an outstanding experience.
What are the responsibilities?
* Engage with customers and sell refreshments for their journey.
* Offer a complimentary trolley service for customers travelling in first class.
* Act as an ambassador for GWR.
* Ensure the safest possible journey for everyone.
* Maintain a clean and pleasant environment.
What do I need?
* Customer service experience within a sales background.
* Excellent communication skills.
* The ability to work both alone and as part of a team.
* A friendly personality and enjoyment in building rapport with people.

Starting salary will be £12,739, rising to £16,665 after probation.
What else do I need to know?
* Hours are an average of 17.5 hours per week, working only on Saturdays and Sundays every weekend.
* Training will be two weeks full-time, Monday – Friday, in Swindon.
* You must live within 45 – 60 minutes travel time of Plymouth station.
