Exams Officer / Data Manager – Secondary School (Preston, PR1)

A thriving secondary school in the Preston (PR1) area is seeking a skilled and proactive professional to join their team on a full-time basis, starting as soon as possible.
About the Role
This is a key position within the school, responsible for the smooth running of all internal and external examinations, as well as maintaining and managing the school’s data systems to ensure accurate reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the planning, organisation, and administration of all examinations (GCSE and internal assessments).
* Manage exam timetables, entries, seating plans, invigilation schedules, and exam-day logistics.
* Ensure compliance with JCQ regulations and school policies.
* Oversee and maintain accurate student data within SIMS and other school data platforms.
* Produce detailed reports and analysis to support senior leadership decision-making.
* Support staff with data queries, assessment cycles, and tracking systems.
* Maintain student records, assessment data, and performance information.
Essential Requirements
* Previous experience as an Exams Officer and/or Data Manager within a school setting.
* Strong working knowledge of SIMS and data entry processes.
* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
* Ability to work proactively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
