An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Procurement & Stores Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmacy Department.
This Senior Pharmacy Technician role is pivotal to the delivery and ongoing development of the Trusts medicines procurement and stores services. The post holder will lead the day to day operation of procurement services, manage staff, oversee contracts and supplier performance, and ensure compliant, cost effective and timely supply of medicines across the Trust. The role also includes operational clinical pharmacy duties and close working with senior pharmacists, finance, contracting teams and external procurement partners.

Main duties of the job
* Lead and manage the Pharmacy Procurement & Stores service, including staff supervision, training and workload prioritisation.
* You will ensure compliance with statutory regulations, national procurement standards and Trust policies.
* Act as one of the Trusts key point of contact for medicines procurement, liaising with suppliers, clinicians, finance, contracting and regional procurement services.
* Monitor, analyse and report procurement performance, contracts, KPIs and expenditure where applicable.
* Manage invoice accuracy, resolve sourcing issues, price changes, shortages and contract variations.
* Develop, review and implement SOPs, policies and risk mitigation strategies within the procurement services.
* Work closely with Homecare Services, Dispensary, Medication Safety, Clinical Pharmacy teams and external stakeholders. Contribute to service development, efficiency initiatives and medicines optimisation projects.
* Undertake clinical duties as required.
Experience
* Experience of reporting and data analysis
* Experience of working with reporting tools and KPI reports

* Experience of working in the NHS acute sector
Knowledge
* Able to demonstrate recent relevant experience of leadership within pharmacy
* Demonstrate experience of implementing new services and procedures
* Experience of training and supervision of others
* Experience in pharmacy procurement services
* Experience of managing staff
* Able to demonstrate finance/accountancy knowledge or experience
Qualifications
* Registered qualified Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* NVQ/BTEC Level 3 in Pharmacy Services skills and Pharmaceutical Science or other equivalent qualification recognised by the General Pharmaceutical Council
* Qualified to practising technician level
* Commitment to CPD
* Commitment to future developments in Pharmacy
* NVQ/BTEC Level 4 in Pharmacy Services skills and Pharmaceutical Science or other equivalent qualification recognised by the General Pharmaceutical Council.
