3 months with a Local Authority Job Purpose Set up and maintain systems and processes to enable the smooth running of the social work unit, ensuring coordination and organization. Act as a first point of contact for inquiries to the unit, including complex and contentious ones, from staff, the public, or other agencies. Handle phone calls or office visits from children and families known to the unit, dealing sensitively with distressed families. Ensure diaries and appointments for unit members are coordinated and accessible. Key Duties/Accountabilities Service the weekly case planning meeting, prepare papers, invite relevant professionals, and keep accurate records. Take minutes of professional meetings, some of which may be at other venues. Keep up to date on developments within cases to answer queries from children, families, staff, or other agencies. Collect and aggregate management information about the unit's work and produce regular reports. Undertake research or project work as directed by the Consultant Social Worker/Practice Development Manager. Essential Experience Required Experience of managing competing priorities and demands, working methodically, and thinking systematically to achieve targets and meet deadlines. Essential Qualification Required General education qualification is essential. Additional Information to Note A satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure at enhanced level is required.
