As a Transactions Tax Director, you will lead our teams in providing comprehensive tax due diligence and M&A structuring services to our clients. The role involves working with both domestic and international clients, offering opportunities for those with UK and cross-border experience. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in transaction taxes and may also have leadership and strategy development experience. This role is also suitable for a candidate seeking their first leadership position, with potential to build a future partnership case.
Role & Responsibilities
Based on current team needs, the role includes:
1. Service delivery - Due diligence
2. Responsible for the overall delivery of complex tax due diligence assignments, including leading corporation tax due diligence services.
3. Liaising with colleagues in VAT, employment taxes, and other specialist services across Mazars group countries to manage tax due diligence projects.
4. Collaborating with the transaction services team to market and secure new financial and tax due diligence projects.
5. Building client relationships through engagements and proactively pursuing post-deal opportunities.

2. Leading tax advisory structuring services and managing complex assignments.
3. Main point of contact for a portfolio of M&A tax advisory clients.
4. Managing client relationships, scoping assignments, and negotiating fees.
5. Coordinating with deal advisory teams for seamless service across tax and financial advisory services.
6. Ensuring advice is reflected in transaction documentation through communication with clients and advisers.
7. Supporting cross-team opportunities and initiatives.
1. Strategic and operational leadership
2. Helping shape the future of the transactions tax team, designing and implementing growth strategies.
3. Enhancing deliverables and processes to improve quality, including team training.
4. Supporting the development, appraisals, and performance management of team members.
Qualifications & Skills:
* Relevant professional qualification such as ACA or CTA (or equivalent).
* Strong technical knowledge of key tax issues in transactions.
* Experience in transactions.
* Excellent project management skills and leadership experience on complex assignments.
* Ability to mentor and support team development.
* Financial management skills, including monitoring performance and negotiating fees.
