The Arthur Terry Learning Partnership is a highly successful Multi Academy Trust (MAT) encompassing 6 secondary schools, 17 primary schools, 1 all-through school, a Teaching School Hub, and School Centred Initial Teacher Training provider. Our schools are based in North Birmingham, Tamworth, Lichfield, North Warwickshire and Coventry.

Young Persons Support Worker

Full Time, Term time only

Required for September 2025

An exciting opportunity has arisen at West Coventry Academy for the position ofYoung Persons Support Worker. This is a new role in the school and an opportunity for the successful candidate to work closely with young people and their families. Working alongside the school’s Pastoral team, Attendance team and the Family Support Worker, the successful candidate will be a key person in supporting young people in overcoming barriers to success.

As a Young Persons Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping students aged 11 to 18 develop emotionally, socially, and personally. This includes:

One-to-one and group support

Coaching and building resilience

Delivering early intervention strategies

Promoting wellbeing, positive behaviour, and inclusion

Liaising with families and multi-agency professionals

Supporting engagement in learning and school life

You will help address issues like mental health, substance misuse, gangs, and low self-esteem, and guide students toward developing confidence and life skills.

West Coventry Academy is vibrant, all-inclusive comprehensive school, located on the outskirts of Warwickshire. Having undergone an exciting development, the new school build boasts a net carbon zero, landscaped building, which is modern, up to date and student focussed. There are a whole host of facilities built with the needs of the 21st century curriculum in mind including extensive sports facilities, a new swimming pool, state of the art Theatre, Music and Performance studios, spectacular Art rooms, an expansive Library, new Sixth Form Wing and updated ICT infrastructure with interactive classrooms.

Salary: £26,409 - £32,654 full time equivalent. Actual salary £23,122 - £28,590 per annum

Hours: 37.00 hours per week, term time only

Location: The role will be based at West Coventry Academy, Tile Hill Lane, Coventry, CV4 9PW

Start Date: Required for September 2025

What you will need to succeed

A relevant Youth Worker or Learning Mentor qualification, or equivalent experience

Experience working with vulnerable young people

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted relationships

A patient, flexible, and supportive approach

A good understanding of safeguarding and the ability to act with integrity and professionalism

Be highly motivated and passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people

The ability to work in a fast paced, challenging yet always rewarding role

Be a proactive team player who upholds the values of the ATLP
