Business Analyst X2 positions available
On 1 April 2026, NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) and NHS Education for Scotland (NES) became one national organisation, focused on continuity today and a stronger, more connected service for tomorrow.
As part of this transformation, NSS and NES have joined to form a new organisation: Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland). This new organisation will play a pivotal role in supporting the renewal and ensuring the long‑term sustainability of health and care services across Scotland.
About the Organisation
PSD Scotland unites expertise from NES and NSS to accelerate national programmes supporting the NHS to deliver better care now and in the future.
We support staff with education and training, provide the tools and data that improve services, and run vital national functions such as procurement, logistics and blood, tissue and cell services.
The Post
To meet the increasing demand from internal PSD Scotland customers, NHS Boards, the Scottish Government, and the wider Public Sector in Scotland, PSD Scotland Digital & Security are recruiting a Business Analyst. The core purpose of the Digital & Security organisation is the provision of world‑class digital and security expertise, solutions, and services to our customers.
Using the variety of Business Analysis tools and techniques, the post holder will be responsible for helping our customers plan and implement their strategies to support the health and wellbeing of the people of Scotland.
You Will Be Responsible For
* Iterative design which meets the needs of the business and aligns with the strategic direction of the organisation.
* Understanding our customer business needs and requirements and creatively shaping and refining business solutions to meet those needs.
* Guiding and advising clients to help them develop and deliver solutions that are aligned to the future technology architecture.
* Working as part of multi‑disciplinary project delivery teams to ensure that solutions are aligned with agreed outcomes and roadmaps.
Role
Additionally, for this post, the role of the BA is to support the gathering of user research for data improvement use cases across the organisation as follows:
* Provide analysis support for data improvement use cases.
* Work on quantitative and qualitative benefits.
* Support further user research and evaluation of data products and outcomes.
The Candidate
You must be educated to Higher level or have equivalent, demonstrable experience. Knowledge and experience of working in a project delivery environment is required.
You must be able to work collaboratively across multi‑functional teams and have the ability to quickly establish your credibility with customers and staff at all levels. The post holder must have working knowledge of agile methodology and be able to apply the agile mindset to all aspects of their work.
Location and Working Pattern
Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow.
Currently hybrid working.
Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week.
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK and have entitlement to work in the UK for the post in which you will be employed.
