Role: Sous Chef Location: Northampton Area Salary: £39,500 Transport: Must have own transport Contract: Permanent / Hours: 40 hours per week We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sous Chef to help deliver an exceptional culinary experience in a high-performance, luxury hospitality environment. Reporting to the Head Chef, the Sous Chef plays a vital leadership role in ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, while upholding the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. Key Responsibilities: Kitchen Operations & Leadership: Support daily kitchen operations and menu execution, maintaining consistency and excellence in food quality. Lead by example, creating a structured, inspiring kitchen environment, and mentoring junior team members. Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service. Culinary Excellence & Menu Development: Maintain high culinary standards aligned with a precision-driven ethos. Assist in creative menu development, integrating seasonal trends and guest preferences. Ensure dietary needs and allergen protocols are strictly followed. Sustainability & Procurement: Champion sustainable practices, including local sourcing and waste reduction. Support inventory management, supplier negotiation, portion control, and stock monitoring to balance quality and cost-efficiency. Food Safety & Compliance: Ensure full adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations. Train kitchen staff in best practices to maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment. Performance & Innovation: Seek continual improvement in kitchen workflow, efficiency, and guest experience. Stay informed of culinary trends and innovations. Deliver on performance metrics including guest satisfaction, food costs, and staff development. Ideal Candidate: * Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Sous Chef in a luxury or high-end hospitality setting * Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills * Food Safety Level 2 or 3 is desirable * Detail-oriented with a guest-focused mindset * Proficient in Microsoft Office and kitchen operations software * Impeccable personal presentation and hygiene * Clean UK driving licence This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated culinary professional to contribute to a unique, experience-led hospitality offering.
