GSL Education are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Physical Education (PE) Teachers to work in schools across Barnsley.
As a PE Teacher, you will play a key role in developing students’ physical abilities, confidence, and teamwork skills. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated educator to deliver engaging Physical Education lessons and encourage students to lead active, healthy lifestyles.
Responsibilities of a PE Teacher:
* Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons in line with the national curriculum
* Teach a variety of sports and physical activities across Key Stages 3, 4 & 5
* Promote teamwork, discipline, and positive behaviour through sport
* Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback
* Encourage participation and engagement in physical education
* Organise and support extracurricular sports activities and events
* Maintain a safe and inclusive environment during practical lessons
* Support students’ physical, social, and emotional development
Requirements of a PE Teacher:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* A degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field
* Experience teaching PE in a school setting is desirable
* Experience coaching different sports with children or young people
* Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
* A proactive and energetic approach to teaching
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
