Student Insight on the Role
I have really enjoyed my placement as a Human Resources Assistant, as I have been challenged, stretched and developed. My placement challenges me, as it involves me in new and different tasks which I champion and resolve. It also takes me out of my comfort zone in terms of some of the activities in which I partake, as I am always doing new activities and learning new things.
I have also been given the opportunity to develop some of my personal skills such as:
* Organisation and prioritising: Typically there are a lot of on‑going projects and activities. Where you must manage, organise and prioritise your time and workload.
* Attention to detail: Another important skill which is essential, as there is a need to ensure all information is thoroughly checked before processing, due to legal consequences and other mitigating factors.
* Communication: Communication is essential to the role, as there is a need to communicate with people on a regular basis, whether it is over the phone, face to face or through letters and emails. My role has helped me in developing this skill further.
