The Opportunity
We are looking for a proactive Production Supervisor to join our team. This is a key leadership role, responsible for coordinating day-to-day operations on the shop floor, ensuring smooth production flow, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
This role is ideal for someone with strong hands-on manufacturing knowledge, proven supervisory ability, and the ambition to develop further. For the right candidate who demonstrates capability and commitment, there is potential for progression within the business.
Flexible Working Hours
We understand life doesn't always fit a strict 9-to-5 routine. While our typical schedule is 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Thursday 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Friday 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM), we offer flexible shift patterns tailored to operational needs and individual circumstances. This flexibility will be discussed at interview to ensure it suits both the company and the candidate, helping maintain smooth production flow.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Duties – Production Supervision & Coordination:
* Supervise daily shop floor operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to schedules
* Lead, support, and motivate production staff to achieve quality and output targets
* Oversee material staging, machine readiness, and shift handovers
* Coordinate across departments to maintain efficient production flow
* Enforce health & safety standards and good housekeeping at all times
Secondary Duties – Quality & Continuous Improvement:
* Monitor in-process quality and ensure finished products meet specification
* Record and report production performance, issues, and non-conformities
* Support problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives
* Communicate effectively with management and other departments to resolve issues quickly
* Contribute to training and development of team members to build capability
What We're Looking For
Experience & Skills
* Previous supervisory or team leader experience in a production/manufacturing environment
* Strong hands-on knowledge of shop floor processes (apprenticeship-trained background advantageous)
* Good understanding of production flows, material staging, and machine operations
* Confident using basic IT systems for reporting and record-keeping
* Familiarity with quality processes and continuous improvement principles
