Working for our organisation

Why Work With Us

In addition, there are weekly Diabetes and Endocrinology MDT meetings and Junior Doctor teaching which you are expected to attend and contribute to. Although this is not a training post, it should be possible for an enthusiastic doctor to map their experiences to many of the core curriculum programme competences, as all aspects of the syllabus are relevant to this attachment. We encourage our doctors to involve themselves in audit and research. You would be expected to familiarize yourself with the audit cycle and assess its role in clinical governance and improving patient care. Supervision for projects will be available, and support may also be available from hospital audit departments.

Additional responsibilities include:

* Actively engaging with continuing professional development and reflective practice
* Maintaining a portfolio of workplace-based assessments, reflections, and evidence of competence
* Keeping up-to-date with current best practices
* Complying with the Trust's mandatory training and identifying personal development needs through appraisal and planning

People management and training

* Leading a team of junior doctors and multidisciplinary colleagues, being approachable and a role model
* Demonstrating understanding of leadership styles to foster effective team relationships
* Challenging others appropriately and escalating concerns when necessary

Research and development

* Delivering teaching to junior and MDT colleagues
* Participating in medical student teaching programs
* Supervising junior colleagues and providing on-the-job training
* Assessing and giving feedback to colleagues in medical and non-medical roles

You will be joining during an exciting time as the first fully integrated care organization in England, working to improve safe, high-quality health and social care. We offer a positive, vibrant working environment and value staff development and diversity. We also support staff who are carers through flexible working and support schemes.

Important information includes potential early closing of vacancies, tailored applications, guaranteed interviews for armed forces members meeting criteria, and the importance of timely references. The Trust is committed to equality and diversity, supporting all staff, patients, and the public.

We are looking to appoint a middle grade doctor at ST3 level or above to support our General Medical/Diabetes ward (Forrest Ward). There are opportunities in specialty and sub-specialty clinics, including diabetes and endocrine clinics. The role involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams, with opportunities for work-based assessments and supervision. Applicants should have completed at least four years of postgraduate clinical work, be registered with the GMC, and have NHS experience.

Key responsibilities include:

* Practicing in a senior trainee role with supervision from consultants in all areas of general medicine including diabetes and endocrinology
* Providing comprehensive assessment and treatment of patients with complex needs
* Adopting a patient-centered approach, respecting patient wishes and goals
* Facilitating safe and timely discharges using a 'Home First' approach
* Working across various settings, including wards and outpatient clinics
* Maintaining high standards of communication, confidentiality, and legal responsibilities
