Affinity Flying Services plays a vital role in supporting UK military air capability, ensuring the seamless progression of pilots through their training journey. As part of a landmark partnership with the Ministry of Defence, we supply and maintain three aircraft fleets to deliver Elementary and Multi-Engine Flying Training within the UK Military Flying Training System (UKMFTS).

We’re now looking for a Flight Line Mechanic to join our dynamic team at RAF Valley. This is a hands‑on, fast‑paced role where you’ll be at the heart of flight line operations — supporting aircraft departures, arrivals, and turnarounds with precision and care.


What You’ll Be Doing

* Safely marshalling, towing, and brake riding Texan aircraft between hangar and flight line
* Preparing aircraft for departure and supporting aircrew during handover
* Performing turnaround and arrival procedures including chocking and securing aircraft
* Operating Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and completing safety inspections
* Acting as a flight line safety walker to ensure safe aircraft movements
* Staying up to date with safety bulletins and reporting through AEMS
* Promoting a strong safety culture and supporting continuous improvement


What You’ll Bring

Essential Experience & Skills

* Proven commitment to health and safety in the workplace
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to follow procedures and work calmly in safety‑critical environments
* Technically competent with great attention to detail
* GCSE‑level education
* Full UK driving licence and ability to obtain UK security clearance
* Experience in aviation or similar fast‑paced technical environments
* NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in a technical discipline
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools and aviation standards

Please note that the successful applicant will be required to undergo a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check. This includes:

* Employment history check covering the past 3 years
* Criminal record check

Please note for this job role, applicants must have continuously resided in the UK for the past 3 years.
