Responsibilities
* Providing constructability reviews & aligning project delivery with business requirements.
* Leading construction management resources, developing their skills, maintaining quality standards and providing guidance and support.
* Delivering regular site safety engagement on responsible projects, ensuring compliance with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards and promoting a positive HSE culture. Continual monitoring of H&S onsite via routine inspections, challenging unsafe practices and promoting good safety practices.
* Reviewing contractor CDM, Quality, Safety and Handover submittals for quality and compliance.
* Assisting the Project Manager with the review and processing of contractual correspondence.
* Solving construction challenges by working with the contractor to develop solutions.
* Inspecting reports to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications during the construction and handover phase.
* Coordinating with multidisciplinary colleagues within Civil, Architectural, MEP, and Structural Engineering fields to ensure all works are installed to plan.
* Facilitating contractor works by liaising with different Gatwick stakeholders and Airlines as required for access, works planning, equipment shutdowns and the processing of relevant permits following the GAL processes.
Qualifications
* Educated to Degree level or equivalent in Building Services, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering is highly desirable but not essential.
* Experience delivering significant Mechanical, Electrical, & Plumbing projects.
* Previous experience as a Senior Field Engineer, Senior MEP Construction Manager or Senior MEP Engineer on larger complex infrastructure projects with multiple stakeholders and possession work is highly desirable.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Experience leading small teams.
* Understanding of controlling and managing the project close out and handover process (bringing into use).
* Previous experience in addressing HSE issues associated with construction.
* Understanding and knowledge of quality management.
* Experience tracking project progress vs programme and flagging issues early for resolution/escalation.
* Ability to perform schedule monitoring, identifying critical activities, milestones and tracking internal and external activities.
* Sound commercial and financial awareness, with knowledge of the NEC3/4 suite of contracts.
