ROLE OVERVIEW: The post holder will be a key member of the Beck Theatre's Senior Management Team, responsible for overseeing operational management of the venue's technical stage team, as well as casual and freelance staff. This individual will report directly to the Beck Theatre Operations Manager and the PT senior central team directors. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Operational Management: You will oversee the technical stage team, casual and freelance staff, ensuring smooth daily operations and the highest standards of artistic quality. Collaboration with Creative & Production Teams: Work closely with the creative and production teams on both in-house and received shows, contributing your knowledge and experience to deliver excellent results. Support to Core Business: Responsible for technical and production services that support the core business of the Beck Theatre, ensuring efficiency and the best possible working environment for employees and visitors. Diverse Responsibilities: This is a diverse role requiring both planning and hands-on involvement in day-to-day theatre stage operations. Teamwork & Collaboration: Work cooperatively with the Beck Theatre management team, contractors, client officers, venue hirers, and other colleagues and freelancers. KEY SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES: Organisational Skills: Highly organised and able to work well under pressure. Leadership: Demonstrates strong management and leadership skills, capable of bringing out the best in the team. JOB REQUIREMENTS: We're seeking someone with an ABTT Bronze Award (or equivalent training or experience) who's passionate about creating safe, high-quality technical environments. You'll have a strong background in theatre or live events - whether as a Lighting or Sound Designer, Theatre Electrician, Stage Manager, or similar - and bring proven success leading technical teams. Experience managing health and safety, writing and reviewing risk assessments, and running technical operations in a live performance venue is essential. Most importantly, you'll be a collaborative leader who supports others to grow and succeed in a dynamic, creative setting.
