We are recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering a major £130m construction project based in the Basingstoke region. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially driven QS looking to step into a key project role with long‑term progression.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage day‑to‑day commercial activities on a major live project
* Subcontract procurement, packages, and negotiations
* Cost planning, forecasting, and budget management
* CVRs, valuations, variations, and payment applications
* Work closely with the Commercial Lead and Project Leadership team
* Ensure contractual compliance and support risk management
* Build strong relationships with subcontractors and project stakeholders
Requirements
* Experience as a Project QS (or strong Assistant QS ready to step up)
* Main contractor background preferred
* Strong knowledge of JCT
* Proven experience on large‑scale construction projects
* Ability to manage commercial responsibilities with autonomy
* Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
