Offer description

Overview

The Home Office Vision is "That all Police forces in England and Wales have the best crime recording system in the world, one that is consistently applied; delivers accurate statistics that are trusted by the public and puts the needs of victims at its core"

Norfolk and Suffolk constabularies Chief Officers describe that "Having accurate and trusted data is important in making the right decisions to ensure victims get the services to which they are entitled and offenders are held to account for their actions". The Crime Registrar is at the heart of this and their role is to ensure the integrity of Norfolk and Suffolk Constabularies’ crime and incident data and ensure compliance with National Standards for incident and crime recording, acting as the final arbiter for the force in respect of recording and determining outcomes.

So, if you want to do something a little bit different and extremely worthwhile, read on.

Who we are looking for

Do you have an inquisitive mind, great problem‑solving skills, and an aptitude for analysing information? Would you like an interesting and varied role in a department that really values its people? If this sounds like you, we’d like to hear from you!

The Crime Registrar is the final arbiter in all crime recording decisions. The Crime Auditors assist by performing a series of internal audits, monitoring compliance with NCRS/HOCR and providing assistance to officers in the correct application of these rules.

The post will be offered on a permanent, full‑time contract.

Location

Members of the Analytics and Insight team are currently home‑based for most of the time, but there will be a requirement for occasional office‑based working. The office locations are the Norfolk Police Headquarters in Wymondham or the Suffolk Police Headquarters in Martlesham.
