Job Title: Senior Technologist - Asset Management Location: Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role. Salary: circa £70,000 depending on experience What you’ll be doing: Develop, implement and continuously improve the Barrow site Asset Management System (frameworks, processes, guidance and tools), ensuring alignment with industry best practice and standards, including ISO 55000 Develop and maintain the Barrow site Asset Management Policy and Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP) on behalf of the Site & Facilities Director, aligned to business objectives Lead an Asset Management Continuous Improvement Programme, using data and insight to identify trends, quantify mitigations and drive corrective and preventive actions across the business Maintain expertise in industry best practice and emerging developments in asset management, tailoring and applying these effectively within BAE Systems Provide leadership, expert advice and coaching on asset management implementation, delivering guidance and training to stakeholders from front-line teams to Directors Lead engagement with industry and academic experts in asset management to ensure BAE Systems remains at the forefront of physical asset management practice Your skills and experiences: Essential: Expert knowledge of Asset Management & ISO 55001 Knowledge of capability management and a systematic approach to training Knowledge of whole life cycle management for complex assets - from design and construction to decommissioning and disposal Desirable: Understanding of nuclear and radiological requirements Experience of leading business change and transformation Degree qualified in a STEM or engineering discipline (or equivalent relevant experience) Institute of Asset Management (IAM) Diploma or equivalent experience Benefits: As well as a competitive pension scheme, BAE Systems also offers employee share plans, an extensive range of flexible discounted health, wellbeing and lifestyle benefits, including a green car scheme, private health plans and shopping discounts - you may also be eligible for an annual incentive. The Site Engineering team: Join a supportive, collaborative team with a strong culture of continuous improvement. In this leadership role, you will act as the business’s Asset Management Subject Matter Expert, setting the asset management strategy and building capability across the organisation in line with ISO 55001 and industry best practice. You will work closely with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain and Project teams, providing expert guidance, coaching and support. This is a high-visibility, cross-functional role, requiring good influencing skills to engage teams who manage their own assets. The role offers exceptional breadth and visibility with opportunities to work across the business and with BAE Systems and external partners to share knowledge and drive continuous improvement.
