Job Description:

Job overview

The Community Children’s Nursing Team is part of an Integrated Service for Disabled Children operating within a wider service system encompassing Acute and Community Services. The team needs to evolve to take account of the need for greater integration to meet the challenging needs of local children in the borough. The team provides care for children between the ages of 0-19 years who are in need of nursing care at home or in an education setting.

An opportunity has arisen to appoint a term time only, Band 5 Special School nurse. The post holder will be predominantly based at Beatrice Tate Special Needs school for pupils aged 11-19, but may need to rotate across the other 2 sites when necessary.

***The salary listed is the full annual amount if you worked all year round (52 weeks). Since this role only covers term time weeks (38 weeks), your actual pay will be a proportion of the full annual salary based on the number of weeks worked.***

Main duties of the job

The aim of the role is to help deliver nursing care, support, training and advice to meet the needs of the children/young people and their parents/carers within Stephen Hawking and Beatrice Tate special needs schools.
