We are looking for a hardworking and motivated Breeding Farm Stock Person to join our team at Penmanshiel Farm. This is a hands-on role covering all aspects of pig husbandry and general farm duties, supporting the day-to-day care, welfare and performance of breeding stock. You'll play a vital role in raising high-health piglets, ensuring gilts and sows receive the highest standards of care, while working safely and in line with company procedures and welfare expectations. Location: Penmanshiel Farm Department: Breeding Reporting to: Breeding Farm Manager Key Responsibilities Check pigs daily to ensure access to fresh water and feed, minimising feed wastage Feed pigs in line with agreed daily feed plans and diets Move stock safely in line with standard operating procedures Support artificial insemination (AI) following training Monitor animal health and welfare, reporting concerns promptly to the Farm Manager Adjust and monitor environmental controls as required Administer and record medication in line with welfare standards and codes of practice Maintain accurate records to meet legal and company requirements Assist with pig movements, including liaising with stakeholders and loading/unloading Remove manure and soiled bedding and assist with cleaning and disinfection Maintain cleanliness and tidiness across designated areas of the farm Carry out ground-keeping and routine farm tasks as required Work in line with Health & Safety, COSHH and risk assessments at all times What Success Looks Like High standards of pig health, welfare and performance Accurate record-keeping and compliance with procedures Strong communication with colleagues and management A flexible, positive approach to daily tasks Effective teamwork and support for wider farm operations What We're Looking For Essential Full driving licence Experience with livestock or an agricultural background Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks Numeracy skills and confidence recording data accurately A strong work ethic, self-motivation and willingness to learn Desirable Ability to operate farm machinery (training can be provided) A keen interest in the pig industry and animal welfare Behaviours Hard-working and reliable Enthusiastic and positive Motivated and committed A good team player who supports others Why Join Pilgrim's Europe?
