About The Role
In your role as part of a Gardening team at HC-One, you will undertake gardening duties at your Care Home and maintain the gardens and grounds to a high standard to help HC-One become the First Choice Care Home in the community. You will be responsive and flexible as the needs of the Homes change.
As a Gardner, you will be responsible for general gardening duties, including planting seasonal foliage, grass-cutting, shrubs and pruning, watering hanging baskets, weed eradication, and tidying pathways, walkways, and driveways within the care home grounds. You will also maintain gardening machinery and tools, perform tests and checks, and handle the painting and repair of fences and garden furniture. Additionally, you will work closely with the estates team and undertake salt gritting and snow clearance as required.

About You
HC-One seeks a Gardner who understands and will implement the Care Home’s Health and Safety policies and Emergency procedures. You will complete mandatory and role-specific training, effectively engage with residents, colleagues, and visitors, and be able to drive a company vehicle, as this position covers multiple care homes.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You should be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect, and know how to report concerns, seeking advice and escalation when necessary.
