Assistant Shop Manager - Derby DS Shop
Are you passionate about charity retail and fashion? Do you have experience managing a retail team? If so, this role might be perfect for you.
We are seeking an Assistant Shop Manager to work in our Derby DS Shop for 22.5 hours per week over 3 days. The ideal candidate will be motivated to help our store reach its full potential.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop in-store systems and promote donations and sales to maximize profits.
2. Represent Mencap as an efficient and charitable organization, reinforcing our aims and values.
3. Generate stock from the local area and donors.
4. Sign up donors to the Gift Aid scheme and ensure maximum income through Gift Aid.
5. Achieve profit targets by maximizing sales and managing costs effectively.
6. Maintain high standards of store presentation.
7. Build an effective volunteer team, providing training, development, work reviews, and appraisals for paid staff and volunteers.
8. Handle all financial and cash handling responsibilities and ensure health and safety compliance.
Candidate Requirements:
1. Experience as an assistant manager or supervisor, with the ability to maintain budgets and complete weekly income and banking sheets accurately, preferably with charity retail experience.
2. Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and bank holidays.
3. Willing to travel for team meetings, training, and assisting with setting up new stores.
4. Passionate about the values of Mencap and committed to the success of our retail brand.
