The Role:
As an Associate Acoustic Signature Analyst, you join a high performing team of engineers, scientists, and data analysts in the Range Analysis & Maritime Signatures group, specialising in Underwater Acoustics.
 
Day-to-day, you will function as an Acoustic Signature Analyst providing professional advice and guidance to customers on underwater acoustic related issues/defects in the hear of a company recognised for excellence in research and development.
 
Your responsibilities will include:
<ul>
<li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Continually developing novel/improved approaches to conducting analysis and reporting of acoustic signatures</li>
<li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Working to ensure that all customer requirements are delivered according to the specified quality, cost and time requirements.</li>
<li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Providing technical leadership for acoustic signature and investment related projects, and technical assistance to large scale, high complexity projects with which you are tasked.</li>
<li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Interfacing with other teams within QinetiQ, Royal Navy, MOD, and other companies</li>
<li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Working in compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental and Security requirements</li>
</ul>
 
Essential experience of the Associate Acoustic Signature Analyst: 
<ul>
<li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Previous experience using modern computing programming languages/software packages</li>
<li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">A Fundamental understanding of the physics relating to underwater sound propagation</li>
<li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Previous experience demonstrating a strong work ethic and enthusiasm for team working</li>
<li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">The ability to approach data analysis with a logical and methodical approach</li>
<li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Excellent communication skills both verbal and written</li>
<li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">The ability to be self-motivated and perform well in pressurised environments</li>
</ul>
 
Essential qualifications for the Associate Acoustic Signature Analyst:
<ul>
<li style="line-height:115%;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">A graduate background in an Engineering, Science or a technical discipline</li>
</ul>

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Winfrith site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week. The flexibility to work at a variety of different locations within the UK and abroad is essential.
